We all know Melburnians love a hidden bar. From the back rooms of pizza shops and the freezers of sandwich stores, nobody does it like us!

Tucked away behind two iron doors in a quiet laneway off Chapel Street is one of Prahran’s best-kept secrets - Beyond The Palms. The venue opened up in May last year, but with the State going into lockdown, has only just reopened.

Behind the bronze doors is an urban oasis that will transport you straight to Miami in the 80s - who needs International travel anyway? There’s a giant palm tree, neon signs and a food truck style kitchen in the open-air venue.

It’s open all day and is inspired by Central American street food - think cajun prawn tacos, charred corn and feta croquettes, and spice and coffee-rubbed pork shoulder burgers. It’s made to be shared, so order as much as you can - and don’t forget the Caribbean gelato with grilled pineapple salsa!

All of the food is perfectly paired with South American-inspired cocktails, including the Between 2 Palms special, served in a pineapple glass.

Beyond The Palms is the perfect venue for any night of the week! There are even $4 Tacos Tuesdays with $10 margaritas that will make you wish you were still working from home the next day.
